Where are the Venues?

  • + Where is the Burswood venue?

  • Burswood Venue - Charles Paterson Park, Resort Drive, Burswood Parklands (off Great Eastern Highway), Burswood. Our Burswood venue is located off Resort Drive, Burswood Park next to Crown Perth (formerly the Burswood Entertainment Complex). Follow the signs from the main entrance to Crown Perth on Great Eastern Highway, or enter from the slip road off Great Eastern Highway if travelling from over the Causeway. If travelling north down the Graham Farmer Freeway take the slip road to Belmont Racecourse then travel past the WA State Tennis Centre along Victoria Park Drive until turning right at the round-about and continue to the next round-about near Crown Casino. Go straight ahead across this round-about (or second exit) travelling past the multi-carpark development. At the T-junction turn left and then take the second right which is Resort Drive.

  • + Where is our Mandurah venue?

  • Our Mandurah venue is in Meadow Springs located in the Quarry Adventure Park on Pebble Beach Road (turn off Mandurah Road into Meadow Springs Drive) corner of Windcrest Way.

  • + Where is the Murdoch venue?

  • Murdoch Venue - Lower Bush Court (near Car Park 3), Murdoch University, South Street, Murdoch. Enter the grounds via either of the two main entrances off South Street (opposite the Caltex Service Station). Directional signs will direct you towards Car Park 3 immediately beside the venue.

  • + Where is the Bassendean venue?

  • Bassendean Venue - BIC Reserve, Corner Guildford Road & Wilson Street, Bassendean. Our Bassendean venue is located in the BIC Reserve next to the Town of Bassendean Council Offices. If travelling from the direction of Perth on Guildford Road turn right into Wilson Street which is the first street after the Bassendean Railway Station (cnr of Old Perth Road which cannot be entered). If travelling from the direction of Guildford on Guildford Road turn left into Wilson Street which is 200 metres after the Bassendean Shopping Centre.

Gift Vouchers

  • + Can I use Gift Vouchers & Value Cards at Mandurah?

  • Yes, you can now use your gift vouchers at our Mandurah venue (La Grassiere excepted). They must be redeemed ONLINE.

  • + Can I purchase Gift Vouchers and how?

  • Yes, there can be ordered online (booking fee per voucher applies) for downloading and printing off OR we can deliver an enveloped gift voucher for $3 postage (regardless of quantity ordered). Telephone 0403 560 684 Monday-Friday 10am to 6pm to place orders. Counter sales available Monday-Friday 10am to 6pm at our Burswood venue during the Season.

  • + My gift voucher says the redeem date is soon. Can I extend it?

  • The redeem date is the date the gift voucher is to be redeemed by - it does not mean the screening you have to select has to be on or before that date. You only have to redeem your voucher by that date. You can select any screening after the expiry date that is available. If you do not redeem it by its stated redeem date you cannot obtain an extension.

  • + I need to buy a Gift Voucher to give right away - is this possible?

  • Yes, there can be ordered online (booking fee per voucher applies) for downloading and printing off OR Counter Sales are available Monday-Friday 10am to 6pm at our Burswood venue during the Season.

  • + What's included in the Telethon La Grassiere Package?

  • Our Telethon La Grassiere package available for use at our BURSWOOD venue only includes: * Admission for 2 People * 2 Bean Bag Lounge Hires * Exclusive Seating Area * Wait Service * 1 Domino's Supreme Pizza# * 1 Domino's Garlic Bread * 2 Mini-Magnum Ice Creams * 1 Harvey Fresh Cheese Pack consisting of crispbreads, 2 x cheeses (100g) and Maltesers 100g * 2 Mt Franklin Water 600ml * Your choice of either a 750ml bottle of Angove's Long Row wine OR 2 pre-mixed spirits, ciders or Matso's beers OR any 4 in a combination of Schweppes 600ml soft drinks or hot beverages from Giovanni. # Vegetarian Pizza option available upon emailed request.

  • + Can a CHILD's Telethon La Grassiere gift voucher or ticket be purchased?

  • Whilst we do provide uniquely Telethon La Grassiere gift vouchers for children patrons can purchase a child's ticket for Telethon La Grassiere to accompany a Telethon La Grassiere standard booking. Note: Available for our Burswood venue only. The ticket costs $29 (including $1 online booking fee) and includes admission, bean bag lounge hire, Domino's chicken kickers pack, a Streets Mini-Magnum ice cream and any two Schweppes 600ml soft drinks or Cool Ridge water.

  • + Do I need to do anything special when redeeming a Telethon La Grassiere gift voucher?

  • When redeeming a Telethon La Grassiere gift voucher you do NOT have to do anything other than redeem the voucher and provide your name, email address, mobile phone number and postcode. Do NOT change the zeros next to pizza, or cheese platters or bean bag lounges to any number UNLESS you want ADDITIONAL items. We automatically order/reserve your bean bag lounges, cheese platter and pizza/garlic bread. If you prefer a vegetarian pizza to the standard supreme pizza please email us through our contact page with full details of your booking.

  • + Can I change/modify my Telethon La Grassiere pizza choice?

  • Whilst the standard option is for a Domino's Supreme pizza we do allow patrons to request a Vegetarian pizza instead for dietary reasons. Similarly we allow deductions from the Supreme pizza for dietary reasons. Please email us at least 24 hours before the screening through our Contact page with full booking/screening details and your request.

  • + When does my Gift Voucher / Value Card / Complimentary Gate Pass expire?

  • Gift Vouchers purchased and DOWNLOADED are valid 365 days from date of purchase. You can extend the date by simply redeeming it and moving it to the last available date (25 December) for use next season. Hard copy Gift Vouchers must be REDEEMED and/or validated by stipulated dates on the voucher whilst Complimentary Gate Passes and Value Cards expire at the end of Season.

  • + Why does my Hard Copy Telethon La Grassiere Gift Voucher have a redeem date before the end of the Season?

  • Hard Copy Gift Vouchers have FOR USE date several days before the end of the Season to ensure we have enough product on hand to meet bookings and to try and ensure everyone with a Gift Voucher can attend one of the remaining screenings of their choice. If you cannot use your voucher by the end of the season redeem it for the listed 25 December session and then it is valid for use next season.

  • + How do I redeem my Gift Voucher?

  • You must redeem ONLINE. They will not be accepted at the gate at the venues. Simply select the screening of your choice and provide the Voucher ID and Verification Code when purchasing. The system will automatically allocate you your ticket or other redemption. DO NOT PUT ANY NUMBER IN THE BOXES UNLESS YOU WISH TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL TICKETS OR ITEMS. At the end of the transaction we will only ask you for your email address, mobile phone number and postcode. If you are being asked for your credit card details but have not wanted to purchase any additional items then you have made a mistake. You will need to go back and change any quantities to zero.

  • + I have been asked for my card details when redeeming a gift voucher. Why?

  • If you have ONLY redeemed your voucher and do NOT want any other items (eg. bean bag lounges or additional tickets) you do not have to pay any additional charges. When redeeming your voucher the online ticketing system automatically allocates your tickets or items being redeemed. It asks you if you want ADDITIONAL items. If you change the ZERO to any other number (by you assuming you need to change the zero to 1 or 2 etc) our system will think these are EXTRA purchases and charge you.

  • + Can I use Gift Vouchers / Value Cards / Complimentary Gate Passes at all venues?

  • Complimentary Gate Passes are valid at all venues. Gift vouchers and Value Cards are all valid at all venues excluding Telethon La Grassiere (Burswood venue only).

  • + What is the Value Card all about?

  • The Value Card entitles you to 4 admissions, 4 standard popcorns, 4 non-alcoholic drinks and 4 icecreams to be used in whatever combination you wish. Some restrictions apply. In addition, you can purchase up to 4 tickets for $8 each to most other screenings. All this for just $59.

  • + I have a Value Card - how do I use it?

  • Every Value Card comes with an instruction sheet to assist you Value Card coupons can NOT be redeemed online. They can only be used at the venues. Each Card has coupons that you remove and redeem at the venue. There is a discount card to remove and present for up for 4 discounted $8 tickets at the venue box office on the night of the screening (not valid Valentine's Day, Rocky Horror and special events).

  • + Must I use all my Value Card vouchers at the one time?

  • No, you can use them at anytime (with some restrictions) in any number.

  • + Why can't I pre-book using my Value Card?

  • Unfortunately for all the goodies you get we had to impose a restriction or two to give value for money. One of these is that we only accept them across the counter at a venue.

  • + Is there anyway I can redeem my Value Card ticket coupons before the night?

  • Yes, we do allow you to redeem Value Card ticket coupons across the counter when the Box Office is open for advance screenings (Mandurah excluded).

  • + Can I pre-book a bean bag lounge or food if I have a Value Card?

  • Yes, we accept bookings for lounges and food without having to purchase tickets. Choose the screening and what you require, pay for them, and the system takes it from there.

  • + When does the Season run and what are the doors open & screening times?

  • Our Season dates: Burswood - Thursday 23 November to Saturday 14 April (nightly) Murdoch - Thursday 16 November to Saturday 3 February (nightly) Bassendean - Thursday 7 December to Saturday 24 March (Wed to Sun). Mandurah - Thursday 21 December to Sunday 28 January (Wed to Sun). Gates open at 6:30pm and all screenings (unless indicated on the programme) commence at 7:45pm.

  • + Food and drinks?

  • BYO food and NON-alcoholic drinks. Venues fully licensed (except Mandurah) therefore no alcohol can be brought into the venue. There is plenty of food to buy. Check out MENU page. Mandurah is an alcohol-free venue.

  • + Website won’t allow me to buy tickets for tonight – are you sold out?

  • We close off online advance sales at 5:45pm for that night’s screenings ONLY in order to arrange food and other orders. Plenty of tickets are usually available at the door. If a session is sold out it will state same when trying to purchase tickets.

  • + Can you buy tickets at the door?

  • Yes, from 6:30pm unless sold out beforehand.

  • + What about seating? Bean bags?

  • BYO or hire seating: bean bag lounges $6 to hire (preorder online - $1 online fee - or at box office on night) or fold-up chairs are also available at our Burswood venue only on the night ($3).

  • + Is there parking close by and is it free?

  • There is plenty of free parking right next to the venue at all locations.

  • + Ticket prices & group discounts?

  • Adults are $14 - Concessions $10 - Children 5-15 years $7 - Children Under 5 Free – Families (2 Adults + 2 Children) $35. Online booking fees are $1 per admission but online ticket prices are $1 lower than at the gate prices (effectively the same prices overall). Special deals for groups of 20 or more. Check out GROUP PACKAGES under PROGRAM & TICKETS. These are not available at Mandurah.

  • + I am unable to print out my online ticket: what do I do?

  • If you have your online ticket booking number and photo ID just come to the gate on the night OR If you have it on your smart phone just present it at gate on the night.

  • + How do I purchase tickets?

  • There are numerous way to purchase tickets online - simply click anywhere you see a "Buy Tickets" link. Scroll down on the HOME PAGE to the Calendar and click on the desired film. If the date is after the range of the Calendar click on PROGRAMME – BUY TICKETS which brings up the list of films being screened. Scroll down to the date & film and click on the film. In both cases follow the instructions to purchase tickets. Online Ticket Sales close at 5:45pm for THAT NIGHT'S screenings. Tickets are also available to purchase AT THE GATE from 6:30pm nightly when the gates open.

  • + I have been asked for my credit card details when redeeming a gift voucher. Why?

  • If you have ONLY redeemed your voucher and do NOT want any other items (eg. bean bag lounges or additional tickets) you do not have to pay any additional charges. When redeeming your voucher the online ticketing system automatically allocates your tickets or items being redeemed. It asks you if you want ADDITIONAL items. Food & Drinks

  • + Can I bring my own food & drinks?

  • Whilst our pricing is very modest compared to most cinemas we also allow our patrons to self-cater with the exception of BYO alcohol.

  • + How do I order pizzas?

  • You can order online either when ordering tickets or not. Choose the screening and then select the food you require. Pre-orders close at 5:45pm for that night's screening. Orders are available for collection at the venue usually from 7pm. Pizzas can also be ordered at the Candy Bar by 7pm for 7:45pm delivery.

  • + What food is available?

  • Depending upon the venue we have sausage sizzles, to a range of Dominos pizzas (including gluten-minimal and healthy choice options), garlic bread, pastas, pies and vegetable rolls.

  • + What drinks are available?

  • Our bar has a wide selection of Vintage House wines, Matso's beers, ciders, pre-mixed drinks and Schweppes soft drinks. We also have barista-prepared Giovanni coffees, hot chocolate and tea. All very reasonably priced. Our bar selection is listed under Food & Drink on the website. Only non-alcoholic drinks are available at Mandurah.

  • + I only eat gluten-free food - do you cater for me?

  • Yes, we have gluten-minimal Dominos pizzas available to pre-order ONLY. These cost an extra $3. You are welcome to provide your own nibblies.

  • + I am a vegetarian - do you cater for me?

  • Yes, we have Domino's Vegorama pizzas and vegetable rolls available.

  • + Can I BYO?

  • Unfortunately liquor licensing laws stipulate that BYO alcohol is not permitted at our venues. Otherwise, everything else is fine. However, remember we're all volunteers trying to help raise funds for children's charities and our pricing is CHEAP! especially for an entertainment venue.

  • + Where can I buy tickets?

  • Either online for pre-purchase (download your tickets) by 5:45pm each evening or across the counter at the venue from 6:30pm each evening.

  • + Can I book tickets in advance?

  • Yes, you can order and download your tickets online for any advance screening until 5:45pm on the day of the screening.

  • + What's included in the Telethon La Grassiere package?

  • Yes, additional child (5-15yo) tickets can be purchased for Telethon La Grassiere when accompanied by an additional standard Telethon La Grassiere package. Note: Available Burswood venue only. The ticket is $29 (including booking fee of $1) and comprises admission, bean bag lounge hire, a chicken kickers pack, a Streets Mini-Magnum ice cream together with their choice of any 2 Schweppes 600ml soft drinks or Cool Ridge water.

  • + Is it possible to change my tickets once I've booked them?

  • Yes, we allow you to change your ticketing at no extra charge up to midnight the night prior to the screening. You need to go on to our website and select the option under Ticketing & Programme for the venue of the screening. Just follow the prompts. No changes will be allowed on the day of the screening.

  • + How many tickets can I purchase at one time?

  • You can purchase as many tickets as you wish until we are sold out. However, if you require 20 or more Group Discounts apply - please see the Groups page on the website or phone 0403 560 684 Monday-Friday 10am to 6pm for further details.

  • + What is a Concession ticket?

  • Concession tickets are available to students 16 years and over together with Seniors and others on Social Security (please present Seniors, Pension or Healthcare card as proof of entitlement). Students under 16 will qualify for a Child's ticket.

  • + Do you accept Carer's Companion Cards?

  • Yes, we accept Carer's Companion Cards. The holder pays their appropriate admission price whilst the carer is provided with free admission.

  • + What is a NO FREE PASS screening?

  • These are screenings where Complimentary Gate Passes are not accepted due to restrictions placed upon us by the film distributor concerned. They are marked as NFP against a screening.

  • + Can children attend screenings on their own?

  • Yes, children 15 years and older can attend on their own. However, we highly recommend that you check the screening's end time to ensure someone is in attendance to collect them.

  • + What age range is a child's ticket?

  • Between 5 and 15 years inclusive. Children under 5 are free and over 15 can possibly qualify for a student discount.

  • + Can I book online using a Complimentary Gate Admission?

  • Unfortunately Complimentary Gate Admissions can only be presented at the Gate on the night of the screening.

  • + How do I purchase tickets using a Gift Voucher?

  • Choose the screening of your choice and enter the Voucher ID number and Verification Code in the appropriate boxes.

  • + What happens if I make a mistake or change my mind when booking a ticket online?

  • You can correct the ticketing yourself by transferring your tickets to your correct screening up until midnight the day prior to the screening at no cost. Select the option under Ticketing & Programme for the venue involved and follow the prompts. Unfortunately we do not refund tickets purchased if you simply change your mind and do not wish to attend. It helps if you please check all details of your purchase before confirming the transaction and making payment. We do not accept responsibility if you change your mind after purchasing tickets.

  • + Can I get a refund if I cannot make it to a screening or decide not to go?

  • Unfortunately we do not provide refunds if you decide not to attend a screening for whatever reason. However, you can change your ticketing up until midnight the night prior to the day of your screening. Select the option under Ticketing & Programme of the relevant venue and follow the prompts.

  • + What if my printer doesn't work and I can't print off my E-ticket?

  • We do accept E-tickets downloaded onto smart phones. Just show the screen at the Gate. Otherwise record your E-ticket confirmation number and have personal ID handy. It would assist everyone if you arrive early so we can help you.

  • + Do you accept E-tickets on smart phones at screenings?

  • Yes, we do.

  • + How secure are my credit card and other personal details?

  • No credit card details are retained by the online system. We do not provide personal details to any third parties.

  • + Are there Group Discounts?

  • Yes, we provide Group Discounts for Groups of 20 or more. Discounts depend upon the size of the group, the screening being attend and if they are entitled to other concessions. Full details on our Groups page.

  • + Are there special packages for Groups and Social Clubs?

  • Yes, we have a wide range of special packages for Groups. Full details on our Groups page. If you want something special we can usually organise something to suit.

Screening Info

  • + Where can I get a copy of the programme?

  • Our programme can be downloaded from the website.

  • + Are infants and babies allowed?

  • We are a family-friendly venue and an all-age venue. If you have a very young one we simply ask you to be conscious of other patrons should your child become restless - and find a quieter place in the venue to settle them.

  • + What time does the screening start?

  • All screenings commence at 7:45pm with gates opening at 6:30pm. There are the occasional special screenings at Burswood with special screening times - please check programme.

  • + What time does the screening end?

  • Screening end times depend upon the length of the film. A film's running time is shown is shown when you refer to a particular screening.

  • + What happens if it rains or the screening is cancelled?

  • In the event that Telethon Community Cinemas cancels a screening all tickets are valid for any other screening (with restrictions) at either venue for the balance of the Season. We do not provide refunds. Screening cancellation is posted on the website usually at 5:30pm at the latest. Advance ticket holders are sent an SMS advising of the cancellation and receive an email advising on how to transfer their tickets.

  • + Do you have daytime screenings?

  • Only in the event of a very long total eclipse.

  • + Can I bring a bicycle into the venue?

  • Yes, you are welcome to bring bicycles into the venue, however, you do so at your own risk.

Bean Bags / Seating

  • + Do you provide seating?

  • Being parklands we allow our patrons to bring blankets or their preferred form of seating or if they wish to hire them at the venue.

  • + Do you have bean bags for hire?

  • Yes, our very comfortable bean bag lounges can be either pre-hired online ($1 booking fee per lounge applicable) or (if not sold out) available on the night at the venue at $6 each.

  • + Can I pre-book a Telethon bean bag lounge?

  • Yes, you can pre-order Telethon bean bag lounges online ($1 booking fee per lounge applicable) at $6 each.

  • + How do I collect my Telethon bean bag lounges that I have pre-ordered?

  • Pre-ordered Telethon bean bag lounges can be collected at the venue. Ask our volunteers to direct you. Personal ID may be required.

  • + Can I hire seating or do I have to bring my own?

  • Yes, you can either provide your own seating or pre-order Telethon bean bag lounges online ($1 booking fee per lounge applicable) at $6 each. We also have fold-up seating available for hire at our Burswood venue ($3) .

  • + If I bring low chairs or blankets how can I ensure my view isn't blocked?

  • We divide the venue into left and right sides with taller forms of seating restricted to the left side. This is prevent patrons on seats blocking the view of those behind on rugs or bean bag lounges etc. Mandurah, because of its amphitheatre nature, is a sit as you like situation as line of sight is not restricted.

  • + Can I hire bean bag lounges and/or order food WITHOUT buying a ticket?

  • Yes, select the screening of your choice and order your requirements. Online charges do apply.

  • + Is it true that profits are given away to children's charities?

  • Yes, over the past 16 years Telethon Community Cinemas has raised over $7.75 million for our Charity Partners and others. We are registered with the Charitable Collections Agency of WA License 20674 and the Australian Charities & Not For Profit Commission.

  • + What happens if I forget to bring my online E-ticket to the gate?

  • If you have personal ID we can assist you. Present yourself at the Gate and advise our friendly gatekeeper.

  • + How do I get to Burswood Outdoor Community Cinema?

  • Burswood Outdoor Community Cinema is located in the Burswood Parklands near the Causeway. Easily accessible off Great Eastern Highway or the Graham Farmer Freeway. The venue is serviced by many Transperth buses and the Burswood Railway Station is within a comfortable walking distance. If entering off of Great Eastern Highway into the Parklands at the Craig Street intersection. Resort Drive is the first left street on your left (just 40 metres from the highway).

  • + How do I get to Mandurah Outdoor Community Cinema?

  • Our Mandurah venue is NOT screening this season but it is in Meadow Springs located in the Quarry Adventure Park on Pebble Beach Road (turn off Mandurah Road into Meadow Springs Drive) corner of Windcrest Way.

  • + How do I get to Murdoch Outdoor Community Cinema?

  • The cinema is located in the Lower Bush Court in the grounds of Murdoch University. Access is off South Street Murdoch through entrances B or C. At the roundabout directional signage will point you to the free car parking in Car Park 3 next to the cinema.

  • + How do I get to Bassendean Outdoor Community Cinema?

  • Bassendean Outdoor Community Cinema is located in the BIC Reserve, corner Guildford Road & Wilson Street, Bassendean. Easily accessible from the Bassendean Railway/Bus Station within easy walking distance. If travelling on Guildford Road from Perth then Wilson Street is the first street on your right after the Bassendean Railway Station (a distance of about 150 metres).

  • + Where do I park and is it free?

  • Parking is available immediately adjacent to our venues and it is free!

  • + Do you have a Box Office Counter?

  • Yes, our Burswood venue's Box Office Counter is open Monday-Friday 10am to 6pm (excluding public holidays) HOWEVER we recommend phoning ahead on 0403 560 684 to check as occasionally duties may limit attendance. All venues' Box Offices are open from 6:30pm on screening nights.

  • + Are the venues wheel-chair friendly?

  • All venues are wheel-chair or restricted mobility friendly. Bassendean is a sloping amphitheatre shape and may require a degree of being careful. Mandurah is a stepped amphitheatre although an accessible pathway is available for wheelchairs to make the occupant's way to the rear and front of the venue for clear good viewing.

  • + Can I bring my dog or pet goldfish?

  • Apart from carer dogs we do not allow animals into the venue for health and safety reasons.

  • + If it's an outdoor cinema can I smoke?

  • No, current laws restrict smoking within any venue or place of entertainment.

  • + Is it true you are all volunteers?

  • Yes, everyone you see at the venue assisting in the running of a screening is a volunteer. They may come from one of our Charity Partners or have no affiliation but wanted to help us raise vital funds for children's charities. We have over 500 volunteers. If you wish to become one email us info@communitycinemas.com.au for an information package.

  • We welcome volunteers! Please send us an email admin@communitycinemas.com.au and we will send you out an information package or you can download it off our website under About Us drop down listing for Become A Volunteer.
