  • + Where are the Venues located?

  • Full information including Maps can be found at HOW TO GET THERE in the drop down list under ABOUT US in the header list. BURSWOOD - Charles Paterson Park, Resort Drive, Burswood Parklands (Cnr Crown Casino) off Great Eastern Highway, Burswood. MURDOCH - Forecourt Bldg 122 (next to Car Park 1), Murdoch University, South Street, Murdoch. BASSENDEAN - BIC Reserve, Cnr Guildford Road cnr Wilson Street, Bassendean (next to Council Chambers).

  • + When does the Season run and what are the doors open & screening times?

  • Our Season dates: Burswood - Thursday 29 November to Saturday 27 April (nightly). Bassendean - Friday 30 November to Saturday 30 March (Wed to Sun). Murdoch - Thursday 13 December to Saturday 13 April (nightly). Gates open at 6:30pm and all screenings (unless indicated on the programme) commence at 7:45pm. Burswood's Early Bird screenings late in the season have a 5:30pm gates open.

  • + Food and drinks?

  • BYO food and NON-alcoholic drinks. Venues fully licensed therefore no alcohol can be brought into the venue. There is plenty of food to buy. Check out MENU page.

  • + Website won’t allow me to buy tickets for tonight – are you sold out?

  • We close off online advance sales at 5:45pm for that night’s screenings ONLY in order to arrange food and other orders. Plenty of tickets are usually available at the door. If a session is sold out it will state same when trying to purchase tickets.

  • + Can you buy tickets at the door?

  • Yes, from 6:30pm unless sold out beforehand.

  • + What about seating? Bean bags?

  • BYO or hire seating: bean bag lounges $6 to hire (preorder online - $1 online fee - or at box office on night) or fold-up chairs are also available at our Burswood venue only on the night ($3).

  • + Is there parking close by and is it free?

  • There is plenty of free parking right next to the venue at all locations.

  • + Ticket prices & group discounts?

  • Adults are $14 - Concessions $10 - Children 5-15 years $7 - Children Under 5 Free – Families (2 Adults + 2 Children) $35. Our premium class at Burswood costs $30 child, $49 single and $99 double. For a list of conclusions check under the header TICKET INFO. Online booking & credit card fees are $1.50 per admission but online ticket prices are $1.50 lower than at the gate prices (effectively the same prices overall). Special deals for groups of 20 or more. Check out GROUP PACKAGES under PROGRAM/EVENTS.

  • + I am unable to print out my online ticket: what do I do?

  • If you have your online ticket booking number and photo ID just come to the gate on the night OR If you have it on your smart phone just present it at gate on the night.

  • + How do I purchase tickets?

  • There are numerous way to purchase tickets online - simply click anywhere you see a "Buy Tickets" link. Scroll down on the HOME PAGE to the Calendar and click on the desired film. If the date is after the range of the Calendar click on PROGRAMME – BUY TICKETS which brings up the list of films being screened. Scroll down to the date & film and click on the film. In both cases follow the instructions to purchase tickets. Online Ticket Sales close at 5:45pm for that night's screenings. Tickets are also available to purchase AT THE GATE from 6:30pm nightly when the gates open.

  • + I have been asked for my credit card details when redeeming a gift voucher. Why?

  • If you have ONLY redeemed your voucher and do NOT want any other items (eg. bean bag lounges or additional tickets) you do not have to pay any additional charges. When redeeming your voucher the online ticketing system automatically allocates your tickets or items being redeemed. It asks you if you want ADDITIONAL items. If you change the number to any other number our system will think these are EXTRA purchases and charge you.

  • + Do I need to do anything special when redeeming a Telethon La Grassiere gift voucher?

  • When redeeming a Telethon La Grassiere gift voucher you do NOT have to do anything other than redeem the voucher and provide your name, email address, mobile phone number and postcode. Do NOT change the numbers next to pizza, or cheese platters or bean bag lounges to any number UNLESS you want ADDITIONAL items. We automatically order/reserve your bean bag lounges, cheese platter and pizza/garlic bread. If you have dietary requirements and wish to change the Supreme pizza for Vegetarian and/or delete toppings please email us through the Contact page at least 24 hours beforehand.

Venue Info / Parking

  • + Where can I get a copy of a venue's programme?

  • Our programme in list form can be downloaded from the website. Select CALENDAR under the drop down menu for TICKETS/EVENTS and click on the button for a printable version of the programme.

  • + How do I get to Burswood Outdoor Community Cinema?

  • Burswood Outdoor Community Cinema is located in the Burswood Parklands near the Causeway. Easily accessible off Great Eastern Highway or the Graham Farmer Freeway. The venue is serviced by many Transperth buses and the Burswood Railway Station is within a comfortable walking distance. If entering off of Great Eastern Highway into the Parklands at the Craig Street intersection. Resort Drive is the first left street on your left (just 40 metres from the highway). ON OPTUS STADIUM event nights access is via the main Bolton Avenue entry off Great Eastern Highway (the main Crown Casino entry).

  • + How do I get to Murdoch Outdoor Community Cinema?

  • The cinema is located in the forecourt in front of Building 122 in the grounds of Murdoch University next to Car Park 1. Access is off South Street Murdoch through entrances B or C. At the roundabout directional signage will point you to the free car parking in Car Park 1 next to the cinema. Otherwise entry is off Murdoch Drive with directional signage also pointing to Car Park 1.

  • + How do I get to Bassendean Outdoor Community Cinema?

  • Bassendean Outdoor Community Cinema is located in the BIC Reserve, corner Guildford Road & Wilson Street, Bassendean. Easily accessible from the Bassendean Railway/Bus Station within easy walking distance. If travelling on Guildford Road from Perth then Wilson Street is the first street on your right after the Bassendean Railway Station (a distance of about 150 metres).

  • + What time do the gates open, the screening start and screening end?

  • All screenings commence at 7:45pm with gates opening at 6:30pm. There are the occasional special screenings at Burswood with special screening times - please check programme. Screening end times depend upon the length of the film. A film's running time is shown is shown when you refer to a particular screening.

  • + What if it rains? How is a screening cancelled and what happens?

  • In the event that Telethon Community Cinemas cancels a screening all tickets are valid for any other screening (with restrictions) at either venue for the balance of the Season. We do not provide refunds. Screening cancellation is posted on the website usually at 5:30pm at the latest. Advance ticket holders are sent an SMS advising of the cancellation and receive an email advising on how to transfer their tickets.

  • + Where do I park and is it free?

  • Parking is available immediately adjacent to our venues and it is free!

  • + Are infants and babies welcome?

  • We are a family-friendly venue and an all-age venue. If you have a very young one we simply ask you to be conscious of other patrons should your child become restless - and find a quieter place in the venue to settle them.

  • + Can I bring a bicycle or pram into the venue?

  • Yes, you are welcome to bring bicycles or prams into the venue, however, you do so at your own risk.

  • + Do you have a Box Office Counter?

  • Yes, our Burswood venue's Box Office Counter is open Monday-Friday 10am to 6pm (excluding public holidays) HOWEVER we recommend phoning ahead on 0403 560 684 to check as occasionally duties may limit attendance. All venues' Box Offices are open from 6:30pm on screening nights.

  • + Are the venues wheelchair friendly?

  • All venues are wheelchair or restricted mobility friendly. Bassendean is a sloping amphitheatre shape and may require a degree of being careful.

  • + Can I bring my dog or pet goldfish?

  • Apart from carer dogs we do not allow animals into the venue for health and safety reasons.

  • + If it's an outdoor cinema can I smoke?

  • No, current laws restrict smoking within any venue or place of entertainment.

Tickets / Payment

  • + Where can I buy tickets in advance or at the gate?

  • You can either pre-purchase online (download your tickets) by 5:45pm each evening or at the counter at the venue from 6:30pm each evening. Whilst there are online booking and credit card fees our online prices are reduced so that overall your ticket price is the same online or at the gate.

  • + What's included in the Telethon La Grassiere packages? Are single adult or child packages available?

  • Our Telethon La Grassiere packages are available at our BURSWOOD venue only. The must be pre-ordered online. These are available for a single adult ($49), double adult ($99) or child ($30).   • + Is it possible to change my tickets once I've booked them?

  • Yes, we allow you to change your ticketing at no extra charge up to 5:45pm on the night of the screening. You need to go on to our website and select the CHANGE MY BOOKING option under Tickets/Events for the venue of the screening. Just follow the prompts.

  • + What happens if I make a mistake or change my mind when booking a ticket or can't make a screening? Do you refund?

  • You can correct or change the ticketing yourself by transferring your tickets to your preferred screening up until 5:45pm on the day of the screening at no cost. Select the option under TICKETS/EVENTS for the venue involved and follow the prompts. Unfortunately we do not refund tickets purchased if you simply change your mind and/or do not wish to attend. It helps if you please check all details of your purchase before confirming the transaction and making payment. We do not accept responsibility if you change your mind after purchasing tickets. However, your ticketing is transferable to any future screening.

  • + What is a Senior/Student ticket?

  • Senior/Student tickets are available to students 16 years and over together with Seniors and others on Social Security (please present Seniors, Pension or Healthcare card as proof of entitlement). Students under 16 will qualify for a Child's ticket.

  • + Do you accept Companion Cards?

  • Yes, we accept Carer's Companion Cards. A combined card holder and companion ticket is just $7. Companion Cards can only be presented at the venue Box Office on the night.

  • + What is a NO FREE PASS screening?

  • These are screenings where Complimentary Gate Passes are not accepted due to restrictions placed upon us by the film distributor concerned. They are marked as NFP against a screening.

  • + What is the age range for a child's ticket and can children attend screenings on their own?

  • Between 5 and 15 years inclusive. Children under 5 are free and over 15 can possibly qualify for a student discount. Yes, well-behaved children can attend on their own. However, we highly recommend that you check the film's censorship classification for suitability and the screening's end time to ensure someone is in attendance to collect them. Children under 15 CANNOT be admitted to MA15+ screenings on their own and must be accompanied by a legal guardian. We reserve the right to refuse admission to, or to request departure and collection of, children misbehaving.

  • + Can I book online using a Complimentary Gate Admission?

  • Unfortunately Complimentary Gate Admissions can only be presented at the Gate on the night of the screening.

  • + How do I purchase tickets using a Gift Voucher?

  • The instructions for use are printed on the Gift Voucher. Firstly select your screening, enter your Gift Voucher number and PIN, click on VALIDATE VOUCHER then provide your details. Your e-ticket will be emailed to you.

  • + What if my printer doesn't work and I can't print off my E-ticket?

  • We do accept E-tickets downloaded onto smart phones. Just show the screen at the Gate. Otherwise record your E-ticket confirmation number and have personal ID handy as we can still help you at the Gate. It would assist everyone if you arrive early so we can help you.

  • + Do you accept E-tickets on smart phones at screenings?

  • Yes, we do.

  • + How secure are my credit card and other personal details?

  • No credit card details are retained by the online system. We do not provide personal details to any third parties.

  • + Are there Group Discounts or Group Packages?

  • Yes, we provide Group Discounts for Groups of 20 or more. Discounts depend upon the size of the group, the screening being attend and if they are entitled to other concessions. Yes, we have a wide range of special packages for Groups. Full details on our Groups page. If you want something special we can usually organise something to suit.

Gift Vouchers

  • + Do your gift vouchers have a use by date?

  • All of our gift vouchers purchased after 1 July 2019 do NOT have an expiry date. Those purchased with a voucher number beginning with 2018 must be redeemed online by the stated redemption date. Please contact us if you have any questions.

  • + Can I purchase Gift Vouchers right now and how?

  • Yes, there can be ordered online (booking fee per voucher applies) for downloading and printing off. Value Cards are hard copy and be purchased at Burswood venue OR mailed (additional charges apply). Telephone 0403 560 684 Monday-Friday 10am to 6pm to place orders.

  • + My gift voucher says the redeem date is soon. Can I extend it?

  • Only vouchers beginning with the number 2018 have a redemption date. All vouchers purchased as 1 July 2018 beginning with the number 2019 no longer expire. The redeem date is the date the gift voucher is to be redeemed by - it does not mean the screening you have to select has to be on or before that date. You only have to redeem your voucher by that date. You can select any screening after the expiry date that is available. If you do not redeem it by its stated redeem date you cannot obtain an extension. For any questions please contact us.

  • + What's included in the Telethon La Grassiere Package? Can I buy a single adult or accompanying child ticket?

  • Our Telethon La Grassiere packages are available at our BURSWOOD venue ONLY. They must be pre-ordered online. There are packages for doubles, singles and children (5-15 yo).   • + Can I change/modify my Telethon La Grassiere pizza choice?

  • Whilst the standard option is for a Domino's Supreme pizza we do allow patrons to request a Vegetarian pizza instead for dietary reasons. Similarly we allow deductions from the Supreme pizza for dietary reasons. Please email us at least 24 hours before the screening to info@communitycinemas.com.au with full booking/screening details and your reques

  • + When does my Gift Voucher / Value Card / Complimentary Gate Pass expire?

  • Gift Vouchers purchased and DOWNLOADED are valid 365 days from date of purchase. You can extend the date by simply redeeming it and moving it to the last available date (25 December) for use next season. Hard copy Gift Vouchers must be REDEEMED and/or validated by stipulated dates on the voucher. Complimentary Gate Passes and Value Cards expire at the end of Season and must be used by that date.

  • + How do I redeem my Gift Voucher, Value Card or Complimentary Gate Pass and where can I use it?

  • You must redeem gift vouchers ONLINE. They will not be accepted at the gate at the venues. Simply select the screening of your choice and provide the Voucher ID and Verification Code when purchasing. The system will automatically allocate you your ticket or other redemption. DO NOT PUT ANY NUMBER IN THE BOXES UNLESS YOU WISH TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL TICKETS OR ITEMS. At the end of the transaction we will only ask you for your email address, mobile phone number and postcode. If you are being asked for your credit card details but have not wanted to purchase any additional items then you have made a mistake. You will need to go back and change any quantities to zero. Complimentary Gate Passes are valid at all venues except No Free Pass screenings listed on our programme. Both Gate Passes and Value Cards can only be presented at the venue at the chosen screening. Gift vouchers and Value Cards are all valid at all venues excluding Telethon La Grassiere (Burswood venue only) excluding where stated.

  • + I have been asked for my credit card details when redeeming a gift voucher. Why?

  • If you have ONLY redeemed your voucher and do NOT want any other items (eg. bean bag lounges or additional tickets) you do not have to pay any additional charges. When redeeming your voucher the online ticketing system automatically allocates your tickets or items being redeemed. It asks you if you want ADDITIONAL items. If you change the number listed to any other number our system will think these are EXTRA purchases and charge you.

  • + What is the Value Card all about?

  • The Value Card entitles you to 4 admissions, 4 bean bag lounge hires, 4 standard popcorns, 4 non-alcoholic drinks and 4 icecreams to be used in whatever combination you wish. Some restrictions apply. A Value Card purchased after 1 July 2018 now has vouchers that do not expire and be kept for next season. In addition, there is a separate discount card (valid only for the current season) that you can use to purchase up to 4 tickets for $8 each to most other screenings. All this for just $79.

  • + Must I use all my Value Card vouchers at the one time?

  • No, you can use them at anytime (with some restrictions) in any number.

  • + Why can't I pre-book using my Value Card?

  • Unfortunately for all the goodies you get we had to impose a restriction or two to give value for money. One of these is that we only accept them across the counter at a venue.

  • + Is there anyway I can redeem my Value Card ticket coupons before the night?

  • Yes, we do allow you to redeem Value Card ticket coupons across the counter when the Box Office is open for advance screenings.

  • + Can I pre-book a bean bag lounge or food if I have a Value Card?

  • Yes, we accept bookings for lounges and food without having to purchase tickets. Choose the screening and what you require, pay for them, and the system takes it from there.

Food & Drinks

  • + How do I order pizzas?

  • You can order online either when ordering tickets or not. Choose the screening and then select the food you require. Pre-orders close at 5:45pm for that night's screening. Orders are available for collection at the venue usually from 7pm. Pizzas can also be ordered at the Candy Bar by 7pm for 7:45pm delivery.

  • + Can I bring my own food & BYO drinks?

  • Whilst our pricing is very modest compared to most cinemas we also allow our patrons to self-cater with the exception of BYO alcohol. Unfortunately liquor licensing laws stipulate that BYO alcohol is not permitted at our venues. Otherwise, everything else is fine.

  • + What food & drinks are available?

  • Depending upon the venue we have sausage sizzles, to a range of Domino's pizzas (including gluten-minimal and healthy choice options), garlic bread, pastas, pies and vegetable rolls. Our bar has a wide selection of Vintage House wines, Gage Roads' beers, Rekorderlig ciders, pre-mixed drinks and Coca Cola soft drinks. We also have barista-prepared Giovanni coffees, hot chocolate and tea. All very reasonably priced. Our bar selection is listed under Food & Drink on the website.

  • + I only eat gluten-free food - do you cater for me?

  • Yes, we have gluten-minimal Domino's pizzas available to pre-order ONLY. These cost an extra $3. You are welcome to provide your own nibblies.

  • + I am a vegetarian - do you cater for me?

  • Yes, we have Domino's Vegorama pizzas and vegetable rolls available.

Bean Bags / Seating

  • + Do you provide seating and/or can we bring our own?

  • We provide the grass and you are welcome to bring your own seating or rugs. There are designated seating areas according to type of seating. Bean bag lounges can be hired (in advance online or at venue on night), limited fold-up seats are available to hire at Burswood, and both picnic rugs and throw rugs can be purchased.

  • + Do you have bean bag lounges or chairs for hire and can I pre-hire?

  • Yes, our very comfortable bean bag lounges can be either pre-hired online ($1 booking fee per lounge applicable) or (if not sold out) available on the night at the venue at $6 each. We also have fold-up seating available for hire at our Burswood venue only ($3).

  • + How do I collect my bean bag lounges that I have pre-ordered?

  • Pre-ordered Telethon bean bag lounges can be collected at the venue. Ask our volunteers at the gate to direct you to the collection point. Personal ID may be required.

  • + If I bring low chairs or blankets how can I ensure my view isn't blocked?

  • We divide the venue into left and right sides with taller forms of seating restricted to the left side. This is prevent patrons on seats blocking the view of those behind on rugs or bean bag lounges etc.

  • + Can I pre-hire bean bag lounges and/or order food online WITHOUT buying a ticket?

  • Yes, select the screening of your choice and order your requirements. These are listed under the ticketing options. Online charges do apply.
